The compact design is simple to use and easy to store. Large easy to read 1" LCD display, scan mode, maximum temperature display, F/C button. Has an increased distance to spot ratio of 12 to 1. The unit includes a FREE . -4 to 932 F - non- contact temp readings. 12 to 1 ratio - increased distance to spot ratio. Constant maximum temperature displayed - increased low end temp range. Heavy-duty construction. Packaged in plastic case. Specifications: Display is 4 digit LCD. Field of view is 8 : 1. Emissivity is 0.98. Automatic power-off after 10 seconds. Accuracy is +/- 20C (4degF), or +/- 2% of reading. Resolution is 0.5degC/0.5degF. Repeatability is within +/- 1% of reading or +/- 1degC (2degF). Response time is 0.5 seconds. Battery Life is approximately 15 hrs (Alkaline). The 52224 also includes a 9V battery, instruction manual, and carrying case.

	Works well It works pretty well and is fun to use (for a while, anyway). What more can you ask for cool gadget Calibrated freezer and refridgerator so wil save some money. This winter I will find all the drafts. Will let me know when I reach 40F when defrosting food on the counter. not delivered yet bougth the thermometer ,but it did not arrived at the address in Miami . so no review possible Infrared Thermometer w/laser The thermometer is a great buy for the price. The shipment, delivery and service by Amazon is super. Great Price - Works well - batteries were included Purchased to monitor engine/radiator temperature to diagnose (false) overheating. Works well - extremely simple. It gives a continuously updated reading while the trigger is depressed, and also shows the highest recorded temperature during the measurement (you can hold it down for as short or long as you like). The display automatically shuts off just a couple seconds after you release the trigger, so you have to make sure to write down or remember the maximum reading because it will reset with the next trigger pull. Carrying case was nice - If left out in the sun it can overheat and will give an error message and be unable to read until it cools off (oops...). A little difficult to monitor engine parts because the beam spreads out 1 inch for every 12 inches away from the surface. This means you have to get as close as possible to what your measuring if you want it to be very accurate. (I targeted a radiator hose and didn't realize the engine exhaust pipe was in line a few feet behind it - got a REALLY high reading over 400 degrees.) Also, discovered that it works well to figure out what walls in your house are letting in the most heat/cold.
